Hello, 2025. Thank you, 2024!

2024 took us from Germany, to our new home in Wisconsin this past summer, and while we’ve missed Germany tremendously, we’re very happy with Wisconsin. Having never even stepped foot in the state prior to moving here, I had no idea what to expect.

It’s really thanks to the weather and people that we’re enjoying Wisconsin so much. Summer was absolutely beautiful, and while Fall was short, it was nice as well. Now we’re officially in Winter, which has already showed us -15 degree F temps, but we survived just fine. Then the people, they have been so welcoming and supportive in every aspect, some of which are fellow military families, and others are local to the area.

Now, here’s a quick reflection of 2024–

Travel – I went to Sevilla, Spain with my friend Amber and to Milan, Italy with a few girl friends for Fashion week. Then my mom came into town and we went to – Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal across two weeks. We wrapped up our time in Germany with one last trip to the Black Forest to get our Cuckoo clock keepsake and it’s just absolutely gorgeous. I’m extremely grateful for all the traveling we were able to do while living in Germany those three years all together.

As soon as we got to Wisconsin mid June, we took a peak at the home we bought sight unseen, and then hit the road to Texas to visit my husbands family and celebrate my 33rd birthday for about 10 days, before heading back up to Wisconsin to close on our home. Since then we’ve re-done our floors (carpet to LVP), unpacked our house hold goods that arrived about two months after we shipped it off early June, and started to make Wisconsin our new home for the next few years.

In early October, we lost our dog, Roxy, after some health issues. Luckily she was able to go peacefully in her sleep, at home instead at the clinic. So we’ll be forever grateful for that, even though she’ll always be in our hearts.

A few wins since moving here are: I joined a Women’s Bowling League and kicked off a new bookclub so my social meter is kept filled. Which is especially important to me with the gloomy winter months.

I wrapped up 2024 with a new personal record of 100 books completed, and can honestly say, I still enjoy reading. There was never pressure or dissatisfaction with having to read, so as long as the joy is there, I’ll keep chipping away at my TBR list.

With moving back to the states, and knowing we’ll be moving again in 3 years (2.5 now), I am heavily looking for a new remote position, to keep over the next few years while AJ finishes off his military career (Retirement 2032). Luckily, I have been able to stay with my real estate team as their Marketing Manager, and keep my real estate business afloat through referrals. So if you’re looking to buy or sell a home, anywhere in the United States, contact me since I’ve made it a point to build my referral network over the last few years.

We ended 2024 with a quick trip to South Florida for Christmas, then turned around to ring in the New Year in our home in Wisconsin.

We couldn’t be happier and I genuinely cannot wait to see what 2025 has in store for us.

A few goals I have are:

  • Reading – #52booksin2025
  • Expanding our family
  • Raising my bowling average
  • Finding a remote position that brings me joy while still challenging me
  • Visiting Colorado with Friends
  • Giving back to Phi Mu
  • Sew a quilt from start to finish
  • Kicking off a Podcast — Life Between the Pages
  • Spend more quality time with AJ
  • Being Present and enjoying the little moments life has to offer

  1. This was such a detailed post and a great one to start the year with. You summarized 2024 well and the whole process of making the move back to the states. You definitely took advantage of the time spent in Europe and hopefully the adventures continue with you back! Looking forward to new posts and what 2025 has in store for y’all.
