2024, Life

New Year! Now What?

I successfully achieved some of my 2023 goals, but fell short on others – and that’s okay!

So another year, another resolution, right? Yes, and no. I’m still sticking with my 2023 tagline of making better choices.

Which now brings me to my goals for 2024. You might recognize some of these from previous years, but I’m here to voice my 2024 goals AND tell you how I plan to stick with them through the year:

  • Move Daily – through adventures, challenges & just taking one step at a time. Just saying that’s almost 3 Million Steps, baby steps really do add up. Plus just stretching and getting my muscles moving – which will hopefully help with back/leg/feet discomforts I’ve been facing.
  • Drink 1 gallon of water daily– by not bringing sugary drinks into our home & taking a water bottle with me everywhere possible.
  • Read 52 Books – continuing my love for reading through book club picks & checking out bookstores whenever I see one. #52BooksAYear
  • PMP Certification by March 15 – finish up my PMP class and passing the certification exam.
  • Post Useful Resources & Updates Daily – by planning my content ahead of time along with collecting content through my days and trips. #IDKLeap366
  • Adventure – travel regularly, say yes to experiences, soak in the moments & scope out travel deals.
  • Buy a House – this has been a goal of mine for quite some time, but then we moved to Germany, so here’s to hoping the housing market is in our favor once we arrive to the states this summer!

Also worth mentioning – I kicked off the year with a virtual vision board I have saved as my phone screensaver, so I can have a daily reminder of my goals!

Some helpful resources for tracking and researching I use are:

  • Planning – My awesome Team Leader bought us all Erin Condren Life Planners (~$50) again, so I’ll be using that this year. But I still firmly stand and back the weekly appointment book (~$12) that I’ve used for many years in the past, I actually paid if forward and got some for my team this year!
  • Google Calendar – I’m still going strong with Google Calendar – I’ve actually started adding attendees and that’s helped with locking in dates with friends and AJ.
  • MyFitnessPal – The free version is helpful, but I did purchase the annual subscription again to keep helping me track my macros. This app lets me scan barcodes of items, build recipes, duplicate meals, add water intake and a bunch more. The app is very user friendly, and the premium features make it even more versatile. It’s also available on iPhones & Android.
  • Garmin – My Garmin watch and the Garmin app allows me to track my steps, and it syncs with the MyFitnessPal app. So as long as I make the decision to either get outside, take the stairs at work, or jump on the treadmill, my steps are getting tracked for me. If you prefer the Apple Watch, I still back it as well.
  • Goodreads – If you’ve never heard of it and are a reader, or want to become one, Goodreads is a free app that allows you to search books, add them to ‘shelves’, and track what you’ve read, are reading or want to read. Searching for book suggestions? Follow my Goodreads account: Jacklyn ACD
  • Google Docs – This has been a fave of mine since I can remember, and I will continue to advocate for it. Google Docs is amazing… It allows me to keep track of my finances on an excel sheet, plan content, keep track of addresses, and the list goes on and on. Best of all you can access on your computer or phone, and it saves in real time.
  • For our trips – I book through my Independent Travel Agency. Since I get commission from all my bookings, including my own trips, at no additional cost to the consumer, I will continue to do so for 2024. With that said, if one of your 2024 goals is to travel more or make extra money, feel free to reach out for more information!
